Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! This year I was dealt with several cards but today isn't the day to look back and think of the things that didn't go as planned, it is the day where you look back and be thankful for all the positivity, love, and all the good things that have occurred in the past year! There was a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that I read earlier this morning and it said "Give Give Thanks for each new morning with its light, for rest and shelter of the night, for health and food, for love and friends, for everything thy goodness sends," and it sums up the truth meaning of Thanksgiving! I am thankful for my family and friends - for their constant motivation, support, love, and encouragement! Thank you for helping me make the transition from college student to an adult! Thank you for helping me launch my blog and keep me sane in the process! Thank you for being who you are, playing a role in my life and thank you for everything that you do for me! I love each and every one of you!

During Fall and Winter plaid is all the craze! Yes that means plaid, checkered, flannel, buffalo for the people who say that they're all the same - they're not! The past few days the weather in Miami has been all sorts of confusing - windy, rainy, and gloomy so my solution is throwing on a pair of booties! As long as there's wind I will be wearing booties and luckily these were a complete steal at Piperlime! I love plaid and when I saw this plaid shirt with embellished pockets in the J.Crew window I became determined to add it to my closet! The weather in Miami makes it impossible to wear a plaid blanket scarf so purchasing plaid shirts still allows us Miami locals enjoy the plaid craze.

The temperature is finally dropping in Miami and we're officially in the 70s and in celebration of this weather I have moved all of my fall and winter clothes to the front of my closet. This winter capes are  a big thing so when I came across this shrug by Ily Couture I got so excited! This shrug gives you the best of both worlds: light enough to wear in Miami and a cape-like structure; the silver/grey color was only more motivation for me to purchase it! This winter my wardrobe will consist shades of black, grey, camel, navy, and a bit of white! What is your favorite winter item?

My last semester in college one of my professor's started his introduction by saying: "what you will wear, will always say more about you more than anything your mouth could ever say," and I couldn't agree more with this statement. Think about it. When attending a wedding or a black tie event you wear a tux or a beautiful dress, pair of heels and get all made up; When running errands you might reach for your jeans and a t-shirt, and when you don't want to do anything but lounge around, you'll most likely throw on a pair of sweat pants. I wouldn't be honest if I said I own my fair share of sweatpants and someday I am so grateful that they exist, but the truth is, I refuse to wear them in public! Have you ever heard that whenever you look your worst you run into almost every person you went to high school with and nobody wants to be seen dressed as if you just rolled out of bed. Thankfully there is something that gives you the best of both worlds - sweats and looking put together, and that is the jogger pant.

Whoever decided to design a jogger pant, I am forever thankful to you! You now allow us girls to enjoy comfortable clothing and still look presentable! The jogger pant can be paired with heels, sandals, and sneakers. This outfit was one of my favorites last winter and it still is my go to outfit on the days where I really don't want to try about putting a presentable outfit together.

Yes, when in doubt wear all black! I try to stay away from wearing all black but when choosing a fall or winter outfit, it is easy to choose an all black ensemble. Wearing all black makes someone look sophisticated, it's an easy choice, and it makes everyone look thinner! An all black outfit can sometimes look dull, so  to give it some life add a pop of color or pair it with white. This past weekend Miami experienced an amazing cold front, a whole 62 degrees Fahrenheit, and my first choice was to go to the park! I am far from a sneaker person but every time I try wear a pair of sneakers I tell myself "just because one is wearing sneakers it doesn't mean you automatically can't wear a decent outfit." Next time you head to a park for a picnic or just to hangout make sure to wear some you'd normally wear with sandals or loafers but pair it with your sneakers.
