Shop Small Business Saturday

As the holidays quickly approached us (I can't be the only one thinks this year just flew by), everyone has begun doing holiday shopping. Friday is known as Black Friday, Monday is known as Cyber Monday but some people aren't aware that Saturday is known as "Shop Small Business Saturday."

Small Business Saturday is November 26th, and it was first created by American Express in 2010 to help encourage people to support small and local businesses. To learn more about Small Business Saturday, head here. I've teamed up with Fundera to spread the word about the importance of supporting small businesses. Fundera help small businesses hire seasonal employees or increasing their inventory by providing them small business loans.

I don't know about you but when it comes to shopping for my loved ones during the Holidays, I search and search for the perfect gift which sometimes leaves me rushing at the last minute buying and purchasing gifts. The best part is that you don't have to wait for it to get shipped or delivered to your door step. My favorite part about shopping small business is that they tend to have more personal gifts and it is more common to find gifts that not many people will have.

This year I've decided to create more personal gifts for my friends so I've turned to some of my favorite Etsy or small shops to purchase their gifts. This is also the time where I stock up on prints for my gallery wall or pins and patches for my new DIY jackets; I will soon be sharing them with you guys. Some of my favorite online businesses are:

- Amo Luz: They are currently offering 15% off with the code "Black"
- HNIllustration: 20% off with code "SHOPSMALL2016"
- Sketch.inc
- RiffRaff
- Jess Illustration
- Arrows at my Window
- Wildflower and Company
- Brittany Fuson Paper
- Rachel George

If you're from Miami, some of my favorite local boutiques are:
- Blush Boutique: 30% off at all locations
- Spin Gallery

So remember when shopping for your loved ones this holiday season, turn to your local shops or small businesses; it is your way of giving back to the community.

I will be updating this page with deals at some of my favorite small shops so keep checking back.

Goodbye Summer; Hello Autumn

Top: Asos (Similar here) Jeans: old (Similar here) Purse: Gucci Choker: Free People Sandals: Steve Madden Sunglasses: Nordstrom

Today's officially the first day of Autumn. Well in Miami the weather is still in the 90s so its still "Summer" here but I couldn't be more excited for the start of a new season. Looking back on this summer, I loved every little piece about it. It consisted of a lot of Disney show tunes, if you follow me on Snapchat you know exactly what I meant.
These photos were actually taken at the beginning of the summer during a brunch outing with some friends; hence all the candids. But I felt like these pictures were perfect to sum up my summer: a lot of chokers and off-the-shoulder tops, discovering new spots in Miami and just laughing at everything. If I'm completely honest i'll probably be wearing off-the-shoulder tops up until November because I can't get enough of them so I apologize in advance.

Spring has arrived

Dress: Free People (also avail. here, here, here, and here) Shoes: Chloe Purse: Saint Laurent Earrings: BaubleBar (Similar here and here) Bracelet: BaubleBar (Love this one) Ring: The Dusty Rose Etsy shop (c/o) Lipstick: Ellie Goulding for M.A.C.

The first day of Spring was last week and I couldn't be more excited. Although I'm not excited about all the rain that comes with the Spring weather, I can't wait to wear my Spring dresses and florals. This Free People dress I purchased at the end of last summer and it took me forever to hunt down; luckily they added this dress to their SS16 collection in black and blue so you can also add this to your closet. I wore this dress on my trip to Mexico back in September and everyone thought I had purchased it from a local store.

Always Summer

Top: Kendall + Kylie for Topshop Skirt: Asos Sandals: Valentino, old (Similar here, here, and here) Purse: Kate Spade Necklace: BaubleBar Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Oh Miami, please give us some sign of Fall or Winter! Every morning I wake up hoping that it is at least in the 70s but nope the lowes the temperature has dropped to is to the low 80s so I'll keep wearing my summer clothes until I can wear a sweater without sweating up a storm. This maxi skirt was one of my favorite's this summer and I even took it with me on my cruise last month and wore it with my bathin suit. It's actually currently on sale! I apologize for all the summer looks you will be seeing around here but i live in Miami where it's unfortunately always summer.

Maxin' It

Dress: Asos Heels: Asos Earrings: BaubleBar Purse: Nordstrom
This dress is probably my favorite maxi dress ever! First of all, it is so soft and after getting a terrible sunburnt it is exactly what I needed to wear while I was on the cruise. The keyhole slit gives it a subtle  sexy look but you still can look dressy but not showing too much skin. When I returned to Miami, I wore this dress on a really hot summer day with sandals and I still remained cool. I totally recommend you buy it!

By the way a few of my favorite stores are currently having amazing sales, I will list them below.
Old Navy: 30% off your entire purchase or 40% off for cardmembers, with code: THANKYOU
Tory Burch: up to 30% off your entire purchase
Bloomingdales: 25% off entire purchase with code: FRIENDS
Equipment: 25% off your entire purchase with code: EQFRIENDS
Joie: 25% off your entire purchase with code: JOIEFRIENDS
Loft: 40% off everything
BaubleBar: Play the bullseye game here and receive from 20-30% off

Prepping for Fall

Top: Revolve Clothing Jeans: Gift (Similar here, here, and here ) Shoes: Topshop Sunglasses: Linda Farrow x The Row Bracelets: Black leather studded cuff, Gold studded cuff, tassel bracelet Necklace: BaubleBar Purse: Gucci

Happy Fashion week or should I say month? Fashion week officially kicks off today and although NYFW has changed around quite a few things, it still remains about the same - Spring collections. Summer hasn't officially ended in my world but after my friends guilting me into starting to dress a little bit more for Fall, I put this little casual outfit together. Here's the thing, I live in Miami, the weather is still in the 90s and technically summer doesn't end until September 23rd, so I am going to wear florals and pastels until the very last day.

Fall this year is all about plaid, buffalo and checkered; these also happen to me my fall go-tos. It is so easy to dress up or dress down and pretty much can be found in any and every color possible. This plaid top is by a brand called The Fifth Label and I first discovered this brand through Piperlime, so sad that they closed, so when I learned that Revolve Clothing sells this brand I was beyond excited.

As for the pointed lace-up flats, they're currently beyond popular, and come next week I will link you to my favorite pairs so you too can purchase a pair. I am guilty of purchasing 3 different pairs because  I am beyond obsessed. They kind of give the outfit a classier/dressier look. By the way, this pair is less than $50 and comes in 3 different colors/prints.

Summer days

Dress: Asos Sandals: Zara (Similar here, here, and here) Hat: Forever 21 Sunglasses: Illesteva Bracelets: Studded cuff, Tasseled cuff, White Tassel, Tasseled bracelet, and Tasseled charm bracelet
When it comes to summers in Miami it isn't as glamorous as the movies or people believe it to be - it's either unbearably hot or nonstop rain. In the middle of the nonstop rain, the skies cleared up and I was able to venture out to the beach and enjoy it for a few hours. We actually didn't stay near the beach for too long but we did hangout near the boardwalk and in the area. This dress is perfect for spending a day near the beach or at brunch because it is so lightweight and it actually didn't make me sweat up a storm like I normally do. If I am being honest this dress makes me feel like a ballerina and all I really want to do was twirl around all day like a 5 year old.

Shades of Blue

Dress: Altuzarra for Target Shoes: ShoeMint Necklace: BaubleBar Earrings: BaubleBar
Unintentionally this week's blogposts had a blue color scheme to them. The truth is a big chunk of my closet is made up of blues and whites so when Joseph Altuzarra made the perfect shirt dress in white and blue there was no doubt in my mind that my closet NEEDED it! I was determined to make this dress mine, especially since I spent the past four months trying on different shirt dresses trying to find the perfect one! Button-down shirt dresses are the easiest thing to put on that will not only make you look ladylike and put together, you also can walk around being comfortable. I plan on wearing this dress with booties or loafers to enjoy a day out in the city!
