Hello Summer

Top: Loft Skirt: Joie, old (Similar herehere, and here) Shoes: Steve Madden Necklace: BaubleBar Clutch: Asos
The first official day of summer was yesterday and here in Miami we welcomed it with 98 degree weather, but felt like way over 100. Miami sure knows how to make us feel like it is summer. During the summer Miami begins to feel like the desert and it becomes nearly impossible to get dressed up without feeling like you're sweating too death. My go-to summer pieces tend to be linen because they're so light wait, and even though they wrinkle quickly, they keep you feel refreshed. I purchased this linen Joie skirt last summer and although it is no longer available I highly recommend purchasing one. A linen skirt can be paired with espadrilles, like I did here, sandals, or a pair of heels for a night-out on the town. Summer is all about having fun and creating memories so when thinking of what accessories to add to your outfit grab something fun like this lemon clutch or these fringe heels. By the way, fringe is huge this summer, so make sure it is at the top of your list of items you NEED this summer.

Casual Fridays

Dress: Forever 21 Vest: Nordstrom (Similar herehere, and here) Sneakers: Joie Necklace: BaubleBar Earrings: Gorjana Purse:  Mansur Gavriel
Happy Friday the 13th! For some strange reason I actually find this day quite funny more than anything. I'm not a big believer of superstitions or of bad luck, but one thing I do believe in is in "Casual Fridays." After a long week of early mornings and late nights, come Friday I am dragging myself out of bed and there's no energy to get all dolled up. Naturally I do not turn to sneakers but after a week long of running around in ballet flats, heels or sandals, I like to give my feet a break and wear sneakers. Whoever said casual Fridays consisted of wearing only jeans or joggers and a t-shirt, they lied. You can make dresses casual. When I came across this t-shirt dress at Forever 21, I knew my casual Fridays were changed forever! The fact that this dress is only $13 makes me sad that they don't sell it in other colors because when those hot Miami days come along, this t-shirt dress will help me survive and still look cute.

The rumors are true....

Top: Express Blazer: Forever 21 Jeans: Zara (Similar here and here) Sneakers: Joie Necklace: BaubleBar Purse: Mansur Gavriel
Yes, I too was surprised to be wearing sneakers! I rarely wear sneakers, unless I am going for a run or a park; even to the park I turn to loafers or espadrilles. With sneakers this pretty how could you help but not say yes? The holidays have begun and that means I've been running around buying gifts, learning how to create decorative cookies, and setting holiday parties up so I have abandoned my heels and turned to comfort. When I purchased these sneakers I automatically thought "I can pair these with an all black outfit or a jeans." I would've never thought I would be pairing these sneakers with another patterned piece because I don't feel comfortable mixing prints, but sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone and see what it feels like. If you're like me and are afraid when it comes to mixing prints, my biggest suggestion is try to mix patterns that are in neutral colors so you don't draw too much attention. Go out and experiment with your clothes and who knows you might fall in love with a new outfit that you would've never thought about!

Last day of Summer.....well kind of

Top: Old Navy Skirt: Joie Hat: Asos Shoes: Chanel Sunglasses: Ray-Ban Necklace: BaubleBar (Similar)

The last full day of Summer was yesterday but here in Miami the temperatures are showing no sign of dropping below 95 degrees Fahrenheit anytime soon. The easiest solution in beating the summer heat is LINEN. The word linen makes some people cringe because of it wrinkling so easily, and I used to be one of those people until I came across this Joie Chambray Skirt. At the beginning of the summer I was looking for the perfect chambray pieces, and this skirt made me reconsider my opinion about linen. I know believe the wrinkles in linen pieces add character to your outfit. I decided to wear an all linen outfit to survive and celebrate the last full day of "Summer."

How did you wear linen this summer?
