Fall in Miami

The weather in Miami is finally starting to drop and by drop I mean it's finally in the 70s. As much as I would love to be wearing knits and jackets but I can't. My favorite items this fall is a denim skirt, lace-up shoes, and tops with bows. These shoes are from zara and are currently sold out but I've linked similar pairs. They're soooo comfy! A month ago it made a year that I decided to create this blog and I've decided to make some changes within the next few months so stay tuned.



 

Outfit Inspiration: Menswear

On Friday, I blogged about how when I think of Fall and Winter I think of menswear-inspired looks so today I bring you some outfit inspiration. The thing about Miami is that it is impossible to wear leather pants until at least late November so I have to settle for leather shorts. All of these pieces are actually from the Menswear department of Farfetch, except for the heels of course. The thing about shopping in the Mens' department is that almost anything can be turned into a women's outfit. There's a few things that can be considered for either Men or women and that is: a leather jacket, shorts or leather pants, a t-shirt, a "clutch," and pretty much anything that's made out of leather. When it comes to white t-shirts I actually will purchase one from the Men's section if I fall in love with it. The t-shirt I featured above is actually on my wish list and I plan on purchasing in the near future.

As for the leather DSQUARED2 shorts, they can easily be worn as boyfriend shorts and no one will ever know that you scooped this pair of shorts from a Men's section. I'm also beyond OBSESSED with this Balmain military jacket and wish I could add it to my closet. The beauty of Fashion now-a-days is that you can buy something from anywhere, whether it be the women's or the men's section and give it your own little twist and no one will ever question it. As some of you may know BaubleBar is my go-to jewelry shop so I've tried to keep my list of favorites to a minimum. I've listed my favorite statement earrings, necklaces, minimalist necklaces for your dressier outfits, and pieces that can be layered without looking to over-the-top. Tassels and fringed jewelry is big this season so make sure you stock up on these pieces.

Dressing Like the Boys

Menswear? Oh how so many of us think it is so much easier to for a guy to get dressed and some girls will gravitate towards mens-like clothing pieces. Lately I find myself grabbing dark colored, plaid or checkered pieces and wanting to pair it with a pair of boyfriend jeans or boyfriend shorts. Miami doesn't really have much of a fall of winter, except for that 1 week in January, so when the temperatures do drop, I will try to wear as much dark pieces as possible. In the fall and winter time an all black outfit just seems so simple, and black pieces can be paired individually with other popular colored pieces like grey or camel. I am warning you now, that my outfits might become a little more menswear-inspired than usual.

Plaid, checkered, and buffalo will be big this Fall and Winter so when Target released this top as part of their special collection with Adam Lippes, I instantly purchased it because I knew it would become one of my favorite pieces; I can't wait to pair it with a leather or suede skirt. If you haven't noticed by now, I am a sucker for pieces of a special collaboration so when BaubleBar announced that they would be releasing a collection designed by Olivia Palermo I make anxious. This crystal necklace might just be my favorite necklace of all time and I honestly recommend you purchase it before it is too late! It can be paired with anything and it isn't as heavy as it seems. Maxin' It

This dress is probably my favorite maxi dress ever! First of all, it is so soft and after getting a terrible sunburnt it is exactly what I needed to wear while I was on the cruise. The keyhole slit gives it a subtle  sexy look but you still can look dressy but not showing too much skin. When I returned to Miami, I wore this dress on a really hot summer day with sandals and I still remained cool. I totally recommend you buy it!
