Fourth of July Inspiration

For today's post I had a possible Fourth of July outfit but I woke up to a terrible rain storm and we weren't able to shoot any looks on Sunday. Instead I decided to move things around and share some of my favorite clothing items that can worn this Saturday to celebrate America. When getting dressed on the fourth of July, you can wear red, white, and blue colors, or wear a clothing piece with an American flag on it.
Some of my favorite American flag pieces are:

You can pretty much wear anything that's red, blue or white and look patriotic so remember this Fourth of July to celebrate our amazing country and our freedom.

Splurge vs Steal: Summer Must-Haves

The first official day of summer was on Sunday so as promised I've listed my favorite summer items and the items that I've filled my closet with to wear all summer long. Thursdays are normally Splurge vs. Steals but this time I switched things up, so I've listed my favorite items at different price points. Feel free to share some of your favorite summer items with me!

Off the shoulder tops

The amazing thing about off-the-shoulder tops is that they can be paired with almost everything and they can also be dressed up and down. I've paired mine wit heels, sneakers, sandals, and espadrilles. The bare shoulders also helps you stay cool, especially when the weather starts to hit the 90s or 100s.
Embroidered pieces

I love embroidered pieces because they add some elegant detail to clothing pieces, no matter how much you paid for it. Embroidered pieces also remind me of South America and laying out on a beach with a drink in my hand.

Shoes

This summer I am all about fringe, florals, gladiators, and bright colors. In the summer it is the time to wear all the printed, bright colored, and different looking shoes that you wouldn't wear in the Fall or Winter.
Dresses

When the days are too hot, the easiest thing to do is throw on a dress. The dresses are all off-the-shoulder, floral, and maxi because depending on your preference, to do list and event they can be all be worn without feeling like you were having a heat stroke.

Bottoms

This summer it is all about the 70s and I am dying to purchase the right pair of flare jeans. But, some days it is nearly impossible to wear jeans because it is too hot outside so pair your tops with a pair of boyfriend destroyed shorts and you have a cute outfit.

Whitney Eve Co-ord

Top: Whitney Eve Pants: Whitney Eve (Dress versions here and here)  Shoes: Forever 21 (Similar here) Necklace: BaubleBar
Another day another co-ord set. My love for a matching separates set is never-ending, as seen here and here, so when I saw this piece at Nordstrom I knew I HAD to have it. Also seeing as Whitney Eve Port from The Hills and The City designed it, it was a no-brainer. She was one my favorites since I first saw her on The Hills.
The thing that I love most about co-ord sets is that they're simple. They're simple in the sense that you don't have to worry about what top or bottom to pair with this clothing piece and you still look put together. This co-ord is a lot more casual than I usually wear but I couldn't resist the lady bugs and the palm print. I've paired these bottoms with a green or white top and a denim jacket. I plan to wear them when running errands or when traveling.

Hello Summer

Top: Loft Skirt: Joie, old (Similar herehere, and here) Shoes: Steve Madden Necklace: BaubleBar Clutch: Asos
The first official day of summer was yesterday and here in Miami we welcomed it with 98 degree weather, but felt like way over 100. Miami sure knows how to make us feel like it is summer. During the summer Miami begins to feel like the desert and it becomes nearly impossible to get dressed up without feeling like you're sweating too death. My go-to summer pieces tend to be linen because they're so light wait, and even though they wrinkle quickly, they keep you feel refreshed. I purchased this linen Joie skirt last summer and although it is no longer available I highly recommend purchasing one. A linen skirt can be paired with espadrilles, like I did here, sandals, or a pair of heels for a night-out on the town. Summer is all about having fun and creating memories so when thinking of what accessories to add to your outfit grab something fun like this lemon clutch or these fringe heels. By the way, fringe is huge this summer, so make sure it is at the top of your list of items you NEED this summer.

Summer is Near

Shirt: Topshop x Nordstrom Pants: Asos Sandals: Valentino, old (Similar hereherehere, and here) Clutch: Old (Similar herehere, and here) Necklace: BaubleBar Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
This outfit sums up my summer favorites: off-the-shoulder tops and floral prints. Shopping for off-the-shoulder tops can be tough, which is why I order quite a few until I found the right one; this one is only $25 and comes in almost every color. In celebration of the first official day of summer, next week I will provide you with all my favorite off-the-shoulder tops, along with my favorite must-have summer pieces. Off-the-shoulder tops are big this summer and the greatest thing about them is that you can wear them for almost ever summer outing.  As for these pants, they are part of a co-ord set but I loved the pants more than the top so I decided to keep the pants and pair with white and pale blue tops.

Denim Dresses

Dress: Forever 21 (short sleeve version) Sandals: Free People Necklace: BaubleBar Clutch: Clare Vivier

Oh, Denim I LOVE YOU! Yes, it is true, I am currently going through a phase where I am obsessed with denim clothing pieces, among others. I've been dying for a denim dress and the past few years I always have one in rotation in my closet. The beauty about this dress is that the denim material is lightweight and perfect to wear even on a day where the weather is over 85 degrees. This dress can be dressed up or down which makes it even greater! I have paired this dress with my favorite pair of heels and I also wore it with sandals to lunch. The thing about this dress is that it is plain so I dressed it up with my favorite leopard print clutch and a gold statement necklace.
