Rainy Days

Jacket: Forever 21 Shirt: Piperlime (Similar) Jeans: J.Crew Sandals: Steve Madden Purse: Rebecca Minkoff Necklace: Coordinates necklace and Long Fringe necklace Bracelets: David Yurman, Balenciaga, and Hermes

Miami's weather has been all sorts of confusing, some days windy and breezy, some days sunny and today it is predicted that we will be welcoming the spring showers. I've loved canvas jackets for years and when I stumbled upon this baby at forever 21 for under $25 I thought I'd be dumb to leave it behind. This jacket is lightweight so it will help me survive Miami's inconsistent weather. I've already worn this jacket over 10 times, with a short set, dress, with heels, with sneakers, and with sandals like in this outfit. This jacket might just replace the cardigans in my closet! Now let me tell you that this bag is one of the softest leather bags I have ever seen. If it was up to me I'd own it in every single color!

Birthday Outfit

Dress: Piperlime Heels: Steve Madden Necklace: Coordinates necklace and Arrow necklace
This weekend was my birthday and I took it serious. It took me about a month to found a perfect dress and I will spare you the details of how many dresses I ordered and returned before I finally decided on this one, the day before. I decided to keep this dress because after wearing for my birthday dinner I'll be able to wear it again for another occasion. This dress can easily be paired with shoes that are striped, nude/blush, grey, floral, or leopard shoes. I, of course, chose to pair this dress with leopard print pumps. The thing about a simple dress is that it can easily be mixed and matched with several pieces in your closet and you get more use out of it. This year it is all about the basics and in the end paying a little bit more for something that can be used more than once, makes the purchase worthwhile.

It's my Birthday!

T-shirt: Ily Couture Jeans: Piperlime Shoes: Nine West Necklace: BaubleBar Rings: Flat ring and Wavy Midi Ring
Yes, today's my birthday! Exactly 24 years ago I was born and I am taking full advantage that my birthday landed on a weekend this year. I take my birthday serious because its one of the few times a year when it's all about you and who doesn't enjoy feeling special? The past year was probably the year where I learned a lot and crosses some things off my list.  I'll be spending the day with my loved ones but before I go I wanted to give you three things that I've learned in the past year:

1) Hard work will get you far in life but if you don't enjoy your life along the way, you will never be satisfied.
2) Loving yourself really does lead to true happiness.
3) Laughter is the best medicine.

Counting down to Spring

Shirt: Piperlime skirt: Piperlime Flats: Chloe Necklace: BaubleBar Earrings: Gorjana
My love for a twin set outfit is no secret. There is something simple and easy about a matching set. My favorite time of the year is definitely Spring. There's something about cities covered in flowers, finally it being alright to wear pastels and wearing fun colored outfits that makes me so excited. Miami is currently in the middle of a cold front and yes our cold front might be someone else's summer time weather but as long as the days are this beautiful I am going to dress like I would during the Spring and Summer. To everyone in the Midwest and up North/Northeast if it makes things better I would switch our rainy days for a couple of inches of snow. This is actually one of my favorite wall installations at Wynwood Walls because I really wish I had a flower wall in my house.

Varsity Blues

Top: Ann Taylor Sweater: Equipment Jeans: Zara (Similar herehere and here) Boots: Zara (Similar herehere, and here) Purse: Mansur Gavriel Earrings: BaubleBar
Here's a mini confession: I miss school and by school I mean college. While someone is in school they automatically are forced to learn and open up their mind, but once you graduate it's up to you to make sure your brain is still hard at work. This sweater was one of my favorite sweaters last winter and I have worn it more than a few times this year. The blocked letter E reminds me of a varsity jacket and every time I wear it I'm filled with nostalgia.

The weather in Miami has been beyond perfect and by perfect I mean in the 50s and 60s. Here in Miami we don't get to wear sweaters often and when we do they  can look a tad bit sloppy so to try and give it a polished look, I wear a shirt with a collar under the sweater. Wearing a shirt with a collar not only gives it more of a uniform/preppy look it also helps to keep you warm by layering.
